Terms of Use
The ground rules, in plain language.
Last updated: July 21, 2026
1. Agreement to these terms
By using findsteadyground.net ("Steady Ground," "the site," "we"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above will change when we do, and continued use after changes means you accept them.
2. Educational purposes only, not medical or professional advice
Everything on this site, the exercises, the quiz, the printable materials, the resource lists, and all other content, is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. Nothing on this site is medical advice, a diagnosis, an evaluation, an assessment, therapy, or treatment of any kind.
The quiz is a general educational sorting tool: it points you toward categories of publicly available educational content based on the options you select. It does not evaluate, assess, screen, or diagnose you or your child, and its results are not individualized clinical recommendations.
Steady Ground is not a healthcare provider. The site's content draws on published research and publicly available frameworks, but it is not occupational therapy, behavioral therapy, mental health treatment, or any other professional service. Always seek the advice of your physician, a licensed occupational therapist, or another qualified health provider with any questions about a medical condition or your child's development, and never disregard or delay seeking professional advice because of something you read here.
3. No professional relationship
Using this site, taking the quiz, downloading materials, or contacting us does not create a provider–patient, therapist–client, or any other professional relationship between you (or your child) and Steady Ground or anyone involved in creating it. This site was created by a parent, not by a licensed clinician, and sharing what helped one family is not a professional service to yours.
4. Parental supervision is required
This site is intended for adults, parents, caregivers, educators, and professionals. It is not directed at children, and children should not use the site or enter information on it themselves.
If you choose to try any activity from this site with a child, you are responsible for providing active, direct adult supervision at all times, for deciding whether an activity is appropriate for that specific child, and for stopping any activity that isn't working. You know your child; we don't.
5. Assumption of risk
Some content on this site describes physical activities, movement exercises, heavy work, balance activities, obstacle courses, and similar. All physical activity carries some risk of injury, and calming or sensory activities may not be appropriate for every person.
By choosing to try any activity described on this site, you voluntarily accept and assume all risks associated with it, for yourself and for any child in your care. You are responsible for evaluating whether an activity is safe for your circumstances, your space, and your child's abilities and health conditions, and for consulting a qualified professional first if you're unsure. Stop any activity immediately if it causes pain, distress, or discomfort.
6. No warranties
The site and all its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the content is complete, accurate, up to date, or suitable for your particular situation, or that any activity or strategy will produce any particular result for you or your child.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Steady Ground and everyone involved in creating and operating it will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages of any kind arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the site or its content, including any activity you choose to try based on it. If any of this limitation is found unenforceable, total liability will not exceed the amount you paid to use this site, which is zero, since the site is free.
8. Affiliate links and third-party content
The Resources & Tools page contains Amazon affiliate links; if you buy through them we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Linked third-party sites, products, and government programs are not under our control, and linking to them is not an endorsement or a guarantee of their accuracy, availability, or suitability. Your use of third-party sites is governed by their terms, not these.
9. Intellectual property
The content of this site and our printable materials belongs to Steady Ground. You're welcome to use the free materials for personal, family, classroom, or individual client use. Please don't resell, redistribute, or republish them, whether in original or modified form, without permission.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the site will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
11. Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you have a concern about the site, reach out through the contact information on our About page.
